The Smithers RCMP has noticed an increase in reported thefts from vehicles.
Many residents appear to be keeping their windows cracked or open in the warm weather – leaving them open to becoming a statistic.
Police are reminding the public to lock their doors and close their windows and report any suspicious activity to the local detachment. Valuables should also never be stored in plain site.
