Police will be cycling up to Houston today from Burns Lake for the Cops for Cancer fundraiser.
Cops for Cancer Coordinator Erin Reynolds says their goal this year is to raise over 300 thousand dollars, after raising 275 thousand last year.
The funds go to Camp Good Times for children with cancer and cancer research.
“20 per cent of the funds go to camp and 80 per cent goes to research. A big part of what we do is create awareness for how important these things are,” says Reynolds.
Two Burns Lake RCMP Members, Deborah Goble and Sabrina St. Pierre, are a part of the team of 25 riders biking out of Burns Lake this morning.
Reynolds says this year’s team is the biggest they’ve ever had.
