Dates are set for a by-election to replace the Mayor of Burns Lake.
Advanced voting will take place Nov. 30th with general voting day Dec. 10th.
Luke Strimbold stepped down from mayoral duties 2 weeks ago to spend more time with family and focus on business.
Councillor John Illes has since taken the interim position as the standing mayor.
So far no councillors have indicated they’re running for the position.
At the last council meeting, the village also appointed Chief Administration Officer Sheryl Worthing as the Chief Election Officer.
She’s conducted the last 8 elections.
This election will cost a budgeted 5 thousand dollars.
