The Burns Lake Fire Department was busy this morning battling two fires.
A blaze this morning west of Burns Lake on Highway 16 burned a trailer home to the ground with the occupants able to make it out safely.
Burns Lake Fire Chief Robert Krause says while they were fighting the structure fire they got a call for a vehicle fire on 2nd Ave in the village.
Krause says it was caused by a short circuit from the vehicle’s heating block.
Meanwhile the trailer fire at the 4100 Block, within the fire protection area, will be under investigation.
18 members attended the structure fire for 4 hours after getting the call after 7 a.m.
