Saturday evening there was a water hydrant failure in Smithers where water was covering the road behind the RE/MAX Centre from Princess Crescent to Princess Street.
There was no damage to any property reported.
Water services have been restored to the affected area, but town staff says the hydrant will be out of service for at least the rest of the winter with plans to repair it in the spring.
