Skeena Bulkley-Valley MP Nathan Cullen has concerns with federal aid money for softwood lumber.
867 million dollars in aid was announced to help Canadian producers with US imposed tariffs.
10 million of that is for First Nations mills to find new economic opportunities.
Cullen says it’s not enough.
“We need something specific from the government to say this is how we’re going to help invest in you right now while we weather this storm – because history has shown that the Americans always lose – they always lose in these disputes,” says Cullen.
Cullen says Canadian negotiators don’t have a spine and failed to reach a deal in time.
