An 18-year-old First Nations woman has suffered serious injuries after a single vehicle collision in Fort Babine.
Smithers RCMP believe alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the collision early Friday morning.
sometime after 6 a.m., the lone driver lost control of the 99 GMC Jimmy while making a turn at a gravel road intersection.
The SUV then came to a stop in the ditch after going off the road to the right.
The woman was airlifted to hospital in Prince Rupert.
Police are continuing an investigation into the crash.
