Telkwa is closing the all-weather soccer field for the summer.
Mayor Darcy Repen says foot traffic along with the winter chill contributed to damaging the field.
“At this point, we’re just going to try and re-establish the grass without a major investment like sod or top dressing,” says Repen.
Repen says the field was originally $260,000 to construct.
He says council has directed staff to try and find a solution.
