The Smithers Steelheads will embark on their last big road trip of the season this weekend.
They’ll be playing both Williams Lake and Quesnel, who currently sit in first- and second-place in the CIHL’s Eastern Division, respectively.
Coach Tom DeVries shares his method for success this weekend.
“Every team seems to have two strong lines and they seem to play them a lot … we pretty much just roll our lines and everybody just has to be aware who’s out there all the time,” he says.
Smithers beat Quesnel 7-3 back in October in their only match so far this season. The two will face off one more time after this weekend.
Sunday will be the Steelheads only match up against the CIHL’s first place Williams Lake Stampeders this year.
Following this weekend, 4 of the Steelhead’s final 6 games will be at home.
