Another big weekend extended the Steelheads winnings streak to 5 games.
Smithers beat Lac La Hache 11-2 Saturday, and then Quesnel 4-1 the following day.
The offense was lead by Brendan DeVries who had 5 points on the weekend. He recorded a natural hat trick in less than a minute Saturday.
Coach Tom DeVries says Brendan is a special kind of player.
“It’s very nice to have a guy like Brendan. Throughout the game, he’s creating opportunities and chances for everybody all the time. It’s pretty exciting to watch,” he says.
Brendan now leads the league with 17 goals and 27 points in 12 games.
With the two wins, Smithers and Terrace are tied for the Western lead with 18 points.
