Teachers throughout the Province breathed a sigh of relief following this morning’s Supreme Court announcement.
The court has decided to hear the BC Teacher’s federation appeal to again control class size and composition.
BVTU President Ilona Weiss says without this, it’s usually the students that suffer.
“Kids that are doing well sometimes don’t get the attention that they need because [teachers] are struggling to address all of these huge needs in [their] classroom, and sometimes you’ve got special needs kids,” she says, “it’s just a really tough job to get to every student.”
If the Teachers were to eventually win the appeal, hundreds of teachers will need to be hired.
