Smithers’ townspeople have shared their thoughts about the future of downtown.
About 400 people filled out the 13-question sign bylaw survey and shared their thoughts on what they’d like downtown to look like.
Among them, 75% of residents agreed that Smithers should continue to be alpine-themed, but many felt it should evolve with things like illuminated channel letters.
Residents also said no to signs under eight feet, permits for window signs, and LED lighting.
