Cullen continues Tour in Hazelton Wednesday

Local MP Nathan Cullen is finding out where your priorities lie on his recent “Townhall on Community Infrastructure” tour.

He says a few common concerns are: better internet, easy transportation, and especially affordable housing.

“If you’re a senior on a fixed income, or a single parent, or (someone) working but not earning enough to pay some of the rent that we have, it would help not just those people but it would help our economy. If you don’t have places for people to stay when they’re working it sure is hard to grow,” he says.

During his stop in Hazelton on Wednesday, he’s expecting to hear about the new arena and high unemployment numbers.

“So how do we get people back to work, particularly young people? it’s been a real struggle and it just erodes at the very core at your community when you have unemployment that’s real high for a long time.”

Cullen made stops in Smithers and Burns Lake in February. He’ll be at Hazelton’s Anglican Church Wednesday at 7.
