The community is coming together in support of Smithers Secondary athletics this weekend.
Student athletes are hoping to raise $10,000 at a family event. Local companies are getting on board with services like car window repairs and haircuts by donation, and a helicopter raffle. Coast Mountain GM will donate $20 for every car the test drive. Students will also hold road hockey games, face painting, and sell pizza.
Principal Jaksun Grice says there is something for everyone.
“Maybe go get a coffee, come down to Walnut Park check out what we’re doing. You can spend five minutes, you can spend an hour, you can spend two hours, it all depends on what you want to do,” he says.
The event runs at Walnut Park on Saturday from 10 until 4.
