The monthly report for the Smithers Airport shows a drop of almost 50 per cent in aircraft movement compared to June last year
Year to date air craft movement also dropped over one thousand six hundred
The number of total passengers also fell by about one thousand compared to last June, and dropped over 4 thousand year-to-date
Airport staff say June numbers could be down due to Hawkair discontinuing their service in August of last year, as well as less expected LNG helicopter traffic.
The Airport has indicated they expect a bit of a boost in those numbers August through November for the fishing season, as well as surveying planes this month and SARS using the airport in August.
