Burns Lake ‘Live it, Love it’ wood cord raffle raises money for sports for the disabled

The Burns Lake Unit Crew for the BC Wildfire Service is raffling off cords of wood to support Live it Love it, an organization that promotes outdoor adventures for the disabled

Paul Hayes of the Burns Lake Unit Crew says Live it Love it was created by one of their fire fighters.

“Jeff Schot sustained a spinal chord injury and became quadriplegic in 2010. Soon after he founded the Live it Love it Foundation giving disabled people an opportunity for adventure and recreational opportunities.”

All the money made from the raffle will go towards the local organization with 14 hundred dollars raised so far out of a goal of 2 thousand.

“Whoever the winner is, they’ll specify exactly what they want. If you win the cords and you want certain inches, we’ll cut it, square it up, and deliver it for you,” says Hayes.

Five dollar raffle tickets buy a chance for a prize of 1 cord; 10 bucks is 3 cords and 20 bucks gets you 3.

You can buy a raffle tickets until August 5th at the Burns lake BC Wildfire Service.
