To help fund community initiatives in Burns lake and Fraser Lake, The Dennis Hiatt Memorial Mud Boggs will be rolling into it’s 7th year
Troy Stringer, founder and friend of late Hiatt, who was lost in an accident, says the money they raise every year gets spread out across different communities.
“we also sponsor people in the community that are sick (etc.) We donate from our fund to them,” says Stringer “When you stand there and you’re looking over 700 people your heart is just warm…
Stringer says last year they raised over 10 thousand dollars, and in the last four years have awarded three bursaries to schools in the area.
“If we make our event better, and we have money in our accounts, we get together and decide where to give the money.”
The Mud Boggs will be held at the Endako Rod and Gun Club 20 k west of Fraser Lake the weekend of August 19th and 20th. Stringer also says there’s rumors of some 2,000 horsepower machines making their way out to the event.
