Almost 108 million dollars is spent to support policing and safety measures in municipalities across the province. That includes over 2.6 million spent in communities across Bulkley-Nechako.
The money from Small Community and Regional District Grants helps fund policing, restorative justice, community services and projects.
Smithers gets over half a million that they use to offset taxes in the budget.
other communities like Houston, Burns Lake, Granisle and the Hazeltons receive between 400 and 500 thousand from the fund.
