The Bulkley Valley Rod and Gun Club has partnered with the BC Wildlife Federation to give youth a free week of outdoor exploring and appreciation of nature and sport.
Brian Atherton of the BV Rod and Gun Club says it’s also an educational opportunity for the kids.
“Everyone of us realizes if we don’t have a healthy population and a healthy environment none of us will have those things to enjoy,” says Atherton.
They’ve been building bird boxes, learning about local ecosystems and developing outdoor skills through fishing, canoeing and other activities continuing throughout the week.
