The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has declared a local state of emergency for the Oosta Lake area.
Chair Bill Miller says a fire near Tetachuk Lake has put some houses in the area in danger.
Miller says there are only a few cabins south of the lake that are in danger of the fire.
He says those in the evacuation zone are asked to leave the area immediately.
He also urges caution in area campsites as the hot, dry conditions are making for prime fire conditions.
