A new murder mystery set in Smithers is out in local bookstores.
Local novelist, Sheila Peters says Shafted: a Mystery features a new-to-town cop who works with the down and out kids at the high school and a local historian and environmentalist who knows everyone in town.
The pair begin to unravel the mystery of nasty threats showing up in people’s dry cleaning.
“There’s some love interests. There’s some old scandals and new scandals coming up and it’s all set in April…when the snow is melting and revealing some things that might be better left buried.”
Peters will be reading an excerpt from the book at a launch party at the Smithers Art Gallery on August 15th and the novel is now available at SpeeDee and Mountain Eagle Books.
