The heat wave has brought record breaking temperatures to the Bulkley Valley.
Environment Canada meteorologist, Allan Coldwells says Smithers broke the July 13th record with a temperature of 33.0 degrees.
According to media the old record was 30.6 held in 1961.
It’s not official yet but Coldwells says records will be broken again today.
“In Smithers for today then it’s 29.4 for 1966 at the airport and we are at nearly 31.0 degrees right now. It’s going to be a record for the airport today.”
Burns Lake just missed breaking a record yesterday.
It was 32.4 in that area but the 2007 record was a degree higher.
