Update on natural resource projects planned for Sunday in Moricetown

Natural resource announcements will be made this Sunday at the Moricetown Centennial Hall with an update on current projects.

Chief Namoks with The Office of the Wet’suwet’en says it will keep everyone up to date.

“We bring it to the different clans and the different houses…they’ll (then) make a decision on how to address it” says Namoks.

Addressing projects he says will include any of the proposed developments in forestry, mining or natural gas, “or anything to do with the territories…currently they’re waiting on an investment decision for a lot of (pipelines).”

Tsayu and Laksmshu chiefs and house members are invited to the update on referral projects for their house territories.

potential environmental impacts, consultation processes and how to participate in house decisions will be a part of the announcement.
