The precautionary boil water advisory for the Village of Hazelton and Gitanmaax Band is over, according to village Chief Administration officer Tanalee Hesse.

She says Northern Health Authority and the First Nations Health Authority called off the precaution today.(THURS)

Tanalee says testing on the surface water system was happening all week.

“We just wanted to make sure the disinfectants made it into all parts of the system…so that’s all good,” says Hesse.

The precaution was caused by murky colours discovered in the water due to high rainfall.

“If we have another big rain event, we may have the same issue.”

She says no harmful bacteria’s were found.
