Evacuation order for Chelaslie Fire issued

The regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has now issued an evacuation ORDER for the Chelaslie Arm Fire.

The order is in place for the north east half of Tetachuck Lake – from the north bank of Ucha Reach – to 1.5 kilometers south of Chedakuz Forest Service Road.

Bill Miller of the RDBN says anyone in that area must leave immediately.

“You are required to vacate. If you are in a home setting you should close all your windows and doors. Shut off all your appliances, close gates but don’t lock your gates because there may be firefighters coming in there to protect your stuff.”

And an evacuation alert has been issued from the southern border of electoral area D at Red Road – to Erhorn Creek – to the Nechako Resivoir and from the eastern boundary of Entiako Park to the eastern boundary of electoral area E in the south – to the Ootsa Forest Service Road – to the Malaput Service Road.

Anyone in that area needs to be prepared to move if necessary.
