A first ever symposium on type 1 diabetes will be making its way to Smithers Saturday
The group Type 1s of the North will be teaching skills as well as educating those living with the disease.
Sandra Smith with Type 1 s of the North says it’s something the area needs.
“We don’t have an endocrinologist up here in the north. People with type one are very far removed from the kind of resources that we might get in a place like Vancouver.”
The conference begins at 8:30 AM at the Della Herman Theatre Saturday and is limited to 300 people.
