This year’s BV Health Care and Hospital Foundation Gala added some crucial operating dollars to the budget for health initiatives across the valley.
After expenses, they were able to raise $78,000 with sponsors contributing $30,000, and $30,000 through their silent auction.
On top of that, Fritz Pfeiffer donated $1.6 million for a new CT Scanner for the Bulkley Valley District Hospital.
“The foundation board of directors will meet next week discussing how to get the CT program on wheels as well as the Bulkley Lodge” Retirement Home, an area of focus for some of the 78,000, says Executive Director Laurel Menzel.
She says there will be other operational costs attached to having a CT scanner – something northern health will be working out, too.
Through the raffle, they were able to raise 5 thousand dollars for a wheel chair for the lodge.
