The Smithers Fire Department is hosting a series of open houses titled Smithers Finest.
Fire chief, Keith Stecko says anyone wanting a glimpse inside the working of the Smithers Fire Hall should stop by on a Friday evening between 6pm and 8pm until the end of August.
“They can expect a tour of the fire hall and an opportunity to take a look at the trucks, maybe even tour inside some of the trucks. We generally have a display of some of the equipment we use for the different incidents that we go to and a chance to look at the other equipment that we have here at the fire department.”
He says the open houses are a partnership with the museum and the culture crawl and is an opportunity for residents, kids and tourists to see the hall and meet the fire fighters.
