Smithers Charity Golf Tournament looking for 2017 recipient

The Smithers Charity Golf Tournament is reaching out to non profit groups and organizations that are interested in benefiting from next summer’s annual event.

The tournament benefits a single organization or group with an average of 100 thousand dollars a year in donations.

Usually the committee chooses the organization privately. Co-chair JC Brown says this year they’re doing it a little differently.

“There’s lots of good causes out in the Bulkley-Valley Lakes District. We want to see what’s out there. Hopefully we can make a project come to fruition,” says JC. “It’s a big benefit to anything in the area.”

Next Summer will be the Smithers Charity Gold Tournament’s 25th anniversary.
