Pit-lamping near Houston leads to arrest

Conservation officers responded to an alleged pit-lamping incident on the outskirts of Houston Monday.

Deputy Chief Chris Doyle says an individual was arrested near the scene with a variety of evidence seized.

He says The deer was found still alive after being shot.

“Conservation officers destroyed the deer – euthanized it – due to the severity of the gun-shot wound,” says Doyle.

He says the investigation into the incident is continuing.
