Safety on BC farms is the main message from two recent Tractor Safety Videos WorkSafe BC has completed with 4H.
Agriculture Industry Specialist, Doug Pasco believes its all about protecting the industry’s future in BC.
“This is the group that is producing highly mature and responsible individuals and we’re so impressed with what 4H does to serve the communities in the province.”
Some of the key points in the videos include keeping three points of contact when getting on and off equipment and to ensure all power take off shields are in place.
There are currently 2200 4H members in BC.
Over 2700 injuries have taken place in BC’s agriculture sector in the past 5 years.
16% of those involved farm machinery or equipment.
