CN Rail has restarted operations near Burns Lake. This after a derailment has been cleared. Spokesperson Emily Hamer says at seven am Friday an east bound train hit a logging truck west of the village.
“22 inter modal rail car bodies and two locomotives derailed,” says Hamer, “there were no dangerous goods involved, and the derailed containers that the cars were carrying contained household goods.”
Hamer says the cars have been cleared and trains are moving once again. She says CN is working with RCMP to find out why the derailment happened.
