Winter will likely be normal in the Bulkley Valley with weak La Nina expected

Environment Climate Change Canada says we’re still looking at a normal winter in the Bulkley Valley riding the cusp of La Nina – El Nino’s colder counterpart.

Last month they indicated we’d be flirting with the ocean/atmospheric phenomenon.

Meteorologist Armel Caspallan says it’s a 50 to 60 per cent chance we’ll see normal conditions with a weak la Nina.

“If it does, the story there, is that it’s going to be a weak signal…so the impact to the
Bulkley Valley and the BC interior will be very minute,” says Caspallen.

A normal November sees an average snowfall of 37 cm and 26 mil of rain.

the temperature this October sat right between the average highs and lows – the next few weeks are forecasted to have a lot of rain with above zero temperatures.
