Over 50k raised at this year’s Mz Judged fundraiser

The Mz Judged Pageant this weekend raised over 50 thousand dollars to provide counselling services for men at the Northern Society for Domestic Peace.

Jennifer Taylor with Domestic Peace says it’s an un-funded service that helps end violence against women.

“The counselling for men, especially the voluntary counselling; I know we’re very proud to be able to offer that service,” says Taylor. “Other that a small community gaming grant, Mz Judged is what we rely on to run our men’s program…it’s really important the we reach a high fundraising goal just to keep our program going.”

Taylor says they have wait lists for the counselling program.

Once every two years the pageant raises money through the contestants, private donors and community support as a main source of funding for the men’s counselling service.

The pageant had 12 men dress up was women to help raise that money.

This year Mz sue My Pants Off, otherwise known as Zachary Blanche, was crowned MZ Judged.
