An evacuation order remains in place for the China Nose area. People from south of Heading Creek Forest Service Road, west to Equity Creek Road, east to and including Crow Creek Road and north to Day Lake Road are still affected by the order. Regional District Chair Bill Miller says the fire is affecting 19 homes.
“We also have an evacuation alert that covers off somewhere to the 50-60 home range at this point,” says Miller, “the RCMP have delivered the order and the alerts throughout the community to make sure everyone is aware of it.”
Miller says people in the affected area are asked to go to the Burns Lake Heritage Centre or the District of Houston Office. Also an information meeting will be held at the Burns Lake Gospel Fellowship at 7 pm tonight.
