BC Liberal Party names Wanda Good of Gitanyow as Stikine Candidate for 2017 election

Liberal Candidate Wanda Good from the community of Gitanyow is running in the upcoming 2017 BC election for the Stikine riding against incumbent MLA Doug Donaldson.

Good says she believes in the Liberal party standing behind working families and is for LNG development.

“We have lots of opportunity, but because out current MLA is of the no, no, no party; we do have that challenge of being engaged,” says Good. “It’s time to put someone in the seat that can say yes. Christy Clark has done a good job and has been a leader in working with First Nations. We currently have many treaties that have been settled under her government.”

Good is also the Gitanyow Deputy Chief Councillor and advocated for bringing bus service between Prince George and Prince Rupert.

“Working with Wanda over the years, I have seen firsthand her dedication and drive,” said Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation John Rustad. “She’s a fighter who cares deeply about her community and the people who live in it – and I’m looking forward to accomplishing great things for rural BC with her in the Legislature.”

Good joins a team of 63 BC Liberal candidates already selected province wide and is running against NDP MLA Doug Donaldson who had his nomination this week.
