$921.43 was the average weekly earnings for BC in September according to Stats Canada.

The highest weekly earnings were in two different sectors according to Analyst, Myriam Hazel. “Mining, quarrying, and oil and gas had an average weekly earnings of $1817.00 in September followed by Utilities at $1658.”

However, payroll employment grew by over 9000 from August, and recorded an increase of 67,700 in the past year.

The national average for weekly earnings in September was $957.27.

Six other provinces recorded increases include Prince Edward Island which jumped 3.3%.
