Employers in the area can learn more about what apprenticeships opportunities are available through the Industry Training Authority. Apprenticeship Advisor Crystal Bouchard says employers can get help with everything to get set for the trades.
“Directing them to resources such as online apprentice portal,” says Bouchard, “funding for their apprentices to go to school, how to report hours, and how to assist apprentices in preparing for their technical exams.”
Bouchard says the main industry in the Smithers area ITA is helping employers with is mining. She says a special information session is being held at Northwest Community College’s Gathering Place from 5-6:30.
