CO officers are cautioning the public about an injured moose and her calf in Smithers

Conservation officers are cautioning the public about an injured mother moose in Smithers with a young calf.

So far CO officer Glen Small says they’ve been receiving a lot of phone calls in the past few days.

He says there’s been no signs of aggression.

“We’re limited in our options of what we ca do with her. We’re hoping that as long as she’s not interfering with anyone or being aggressive, she’ll wander off in the spring time,” says Small.

He says if you confront the moose, keep your distance, and if it does attack, cover your head.
