The Town of Smithers has picked up two more awards at the UBCM convention in Whistler.
Councillor Phil Brienesse says the BC Small Business Roundtable named the town a recipeint of its Open for Business awards.
The town also won a Community Excellence award for Community Engagement.
“Which is probably the award that I am most proud of,” he says. “It is something that I campaigned hard on in the last election and something that I have tried to work on, that feeling in the community that you are part of council, you can come and talk to us and your input matters.”
In total the town picked up three awards, including one earlier this week for the wood work done at Bovill Square.
