World Breastfeeding Week

It’s world breastfeeding week and there are some activities planned in the Bulkey Valley to celebrate it.
There will be two breastfeeding challenges, one in Houston and one in Smithers on Saturday from 10-12.
Both will be held at their respective libraries.
Public Health Nurse Taryn Oppel says it is about supporting each other.
“The Quintessence Breastfeeding Foundation supports breastfeeding as a way of raising healthy babies and healthy families. Pregnancy Outreach, Public Health and Northern Health are fully supportive of breastfeeding and want to support women to do it successfully.”
Oppel adds even mothers who aren’t breastfeeding are welcome to attend.
There will be nurses on hand to answer questions.
