The Canadian Avalanche Centre has a new name and logo now.
Executive Director Gilles Valade says the organization will now be called Avalanche Canada.
“We had a name very similar to the Canadian Avalanche Association, and we shared a logo,” he says. “It was confusing for the public to know the difference.”
He adds they will still offer the same programs, products and services for Canada’s winter back country users.
They will still use avalanche.ca as their website so there will be no change to where users go for avalanche safety information.
