Blanket drive continues tonight

The blanket drive in Smithers is continuing tonight.
Yesterday, volunteers stood in the rain at the corner of Main St and Highway 16 collecting new or gently used blankets for the homeless.
Megan Brady with Positive Living North says they weren’t sure how many people would donate.
“We didn’t have any expectations so we weren’t dissapointed, it was an amazing turn out,” she says. “We had 5 blankets donated and a bunch of fleece scarves.”
Blankets will also be accepted at a play that is happening tonight at the art gallery in Smithers.
“No fixed address” by Valerie Laub will start at 7 p.m.
