Cullen calls for better train safety

After another train explosion this week, the MP for Skeena Bulkley Valley is callingĀ for tighter restrictions for rail companies.
On Tuesday, 26 rail cars derailed in Saskatchewan, six of which were carrying hazardous material.
Nathan Cullen says he will look at some legislation to help strengthen Canada’s rules and regulations to make the train companies aren’t operating like they are now.
“So similar to the many rail incidents we’ve seen over the pastĀ number of years,” he says.Ā “Government has virtually done nothing to help local responders and proves what basic information what trains are carrying when they go through our communities.”
No was injured in the Saskatchewan derailment.
