The MP for Skeena Bulkley Valley is making a stop in Smithers tomorrow during his ‘Take Back Our Coast’ tour.
Nathan Cullen says the point is to talk about his private members bill to ban oil tankers on the north coast.
“The response has been large and over overwhelmingly positive,” he says. “People want to know about it, what tankers we are banning, a lot of geography questions, is this going to protect the Douglas Channel and the north coast from Enbridge? And it does.”
Cullen introduced the bill in the House of Commons in September. The meeting will take place at the Old Church at 7 pm tomorrow. Overall he says he will be visiting 20 communities.
