Northern Development Initiative Trust is giving some cash for the Village of Granisle’s Memorial Park Enhancement.
Director of economic development Dean McKinley says the $30,000 will go to the recently developed community park to increase its potential for revenue generating activities.
“It’s certainly an opportunity to take what is already a really nice space and turn it into a fully functional space to host farmers markets, craft fairs, host events like picnics and weddings,” he says. “It is really converting a nice park into a primary community facility.”
The project also includes several renovations such as the construction of a wheelchair accessible washroom with a shower.
