There are three people running for mayor in Telkwa.
Darcy Repen says he wants to run the council differently, if elected.
“I’m fed up with what the current council has done in the past six years,” he says. “I feel the money has been spent very wastefully.”
Incumbent Councillor, Rimas Zitkauskas says he isn’t finished on council yet.
“I think I need to give back and offer the community back what they’ve invested in me by letting me sit on council for the past six years,” he says.
And long term resident, Vicki Rokstad says now that she is semi-retired she has time to give back. “It is time to give back and serve my community,” she says. “And I think Telkwa needs a women’s touch.”
The incumbent mayor, Carman Graf was initially thinking of running again but has since decided to run for Councillor instead.
The election will be held on November 15th.
