The New Hazelton RCMP are thanking the Gitsegukla Volunteer Fire Department for once again helping them out.
Corporal Wenda Leask says the firefighters are usually the first ones on the scene when something happens in the village and says their quick response, knowledge and assistance is appreciated greatly. She adds this was the case last week when an intoxicated male attended a home and entered after knocking. The man then made rude comments to the homeowner and was told to leave. But he returned, kicked in the door and entered the home.
The crew from the fire department located the man and kept him there until police arrived and arrested him.
