Today’s the last day of the Alternative Approval Process to borrow three million dollars for the Smithers airport modernization project.
10 per cent or more of the eligible smithers voters can halt the borrowing through the process.
If approved, the town will pay back the money over a 20-year period with the debt serviced by outgoing passenger airport fees.
The three million will help pay for upgrades and renovations to the airport terminal.
