The Smithers Library has won a provincial award for their work in building new relationships within the community.
The BC Library Association hands the Building a Better BC Award out to organizations and individuals that increase services and build trust where little had existed.
Council gave them the nomination for their relationship building with the local first nations communities.
The association says the Smithers Library has even worked on some of the recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Report.
